My Photography Style — Soft, Authentic & Made for Female Founders
There's a difference between photos that look good and photos that feel like you.
Most brand photos feel like brand photos. You can tell. The stiff smile, the overly polished backdrop, the lighting that makes everyone look vaguely like a LinkedIn profile. You scroll past them without thinking.
That's not what I do.
What "Soft & Authentic" Actually Means
When I talk about soft photography, I don't mean blurry or low-effort. I mean intentional. Warm. Light that flatters without flattening. Images that look like they were taken on a really good day, because they were.
Authentic means something different for every woman I photograph. For some, it's the mid-laugh shot. For others, it's the quiet, confident look directly down the lens. My job is to find the version of you that you actually want the world to see — and make sure we capture it.
As a London brand photographer, I love soft indoor settings, airy studios, and outdoor locations that feel like you; a coffee shop you'd actually go to, a street that feels like your neighbourhood, a space that has texture and life to it.
Why This Style Works for Female Founders
Female founders are building personal brands, not just businesses. The women who come to me aren't selling a faceless product, they are the brand. Their warmth, their expertise, their presence, that's what their audience is buying into.
Photos that feel stiff or generic work against that. They create distance when what you actually need is connection.
Soft, authentic brand photography closes that gap. It tells your audience: this is a real person. This is someone I can trust. This is someone I want to work with.
That's the shift I see again and again after a shoot. Women who've been avoiding putting themselves front and centre suddenly have a full gallery of images they're excited to use. They update their websites. They show up on Instagram. They feel ready, not because anything changed about them, but because the photos finally matched who they already were.
What to Expect From a By Shoug Shoot
Every session starts with a conversation. I want to understand your brand, your audience, how you want to be perceived, and, just as importantly, what makes you feel like yourself.
From there, we build out a shoot plan together. Locations, outfits, the kinds of images you need; website hero shots, social content, headshots, lifestyle images, or all of the above.
On the day, my job is to make you forget you're being photographed. I'll guide you through every pose and transition, keep the energy light, and make sure we get what we came for, and then some.
Ready to See What's Possible?
If you've been putting off getting brand photos because you're not sure they'll feel right, that's exactly who I made this for.
